Mobility Training

Are tight muscles or injuries making you tentative to do activities, causing pain or making you feel weaker? Common pains in the neck, shoulders, back and knees can be removed with this type of approach.

As we age we tend to be less active, breathe shallower, sit too much, lose muscle, shorten our stride and gain weight; all of which negatively affect our posture. This process makes ankles, knees, hips, spine and shoulders weaker, stiffer and creates more muscle imbalances that restrict what we want to do.

Therefore, similar to piano tuning we must focus on lengthening and strengthening the key muscles that put our muscles in balance. Generically strengthening and stretching is not effective because it doesn’t address your specific needs to create balance.

My comprehensive assessment takes into account your past and present flexibility, muscular strength, joint health, posture, daily habits, activities and goals.

My mobility training program is weight bearing active movements designed to improve joint and muscle function. The goal is to help you improve postural balance and essential movements such as how to squat, bow, lunge, twist your hips, as well as, normalize spine function, and improve shoulder and arm range of motion. Incorporating proper breathing and gait may also be important.

Advanced assisted stretching along with fascial / muscular work can play an important role in improving range of motion.

Together with the right diet, cardio and strength training mobility training can be accelerated.
